Outdoor unit position
Free air discharge, distance to the boundary and to windows, no enclosed courtyard that reflects sound, access for maintenance.
Good installation decides consumption, noise and service life. Here is how we do it, step by step.
A mono-split system takes about four to six hours, a multi-split system one to two days.
Positions are marked, furniture covered, drilling points prepared with dust extraction.
A core hole of about 65 mm with a slight fall to the outside, so condensate always drains away.
Copper pipes, control cable and condensate hose run together – in trunking or chased inside, in façade trunking outside.
On wall brackets, ground feet or roof supports, vibration isolated and with a free air path.
The circuit is evacuated and pressure tested. This step is often skipped and is the most common cause of later failures.
Refrigerant charge adjusted, operating values measured, report written, remote and app explained.
Free air discharge, distance to the boundary and to windows, no enclosed courtyard that reflects sound, access for maintenance.
A dedicated protected circuit with RCD. Older consumer units may need extending.
Gravity drain to the outside or into waste water. Without a fall you need a condensate pump.
A condominium needs a resolution, and communes in protected areas may set conditions.
Shorter and straighter is more efficient and cheaper. Routing through a service shaft looks best.
Between October and April slots are available at short notice; in high summer far less so.
After commissioning you receive a report with the refrigerant charge, measured pressures and temperatures, plus the manufacturer's documentation. You need these papers for any warranty claim and when selling the property.
The statutory warranty covers parts and labour; with many brands the manufacturer's guarantee depends on annual servicing by a professional. Check your model's data sheet – a service contract usually costs less than losing the guarantee.

Façade, terrace, flat roof or pitched roof: where the outdoor unit sits decides the noise level, the efficiency and whether the neighbours stay happy. It needs unobstructed air intake, clearance to the boundary and a drain for condensate in heating mode.
On a roof it stands on a vibration-isolated bracket that does not load the tiles. In densely built areas we check in advance which position keeps within night-time noise limits.
The visit is free and without obligation – it is the basis for a fixed price you can rely on.
